This is so painfully true..I'm a writer, sure, but I also want to paint and be good at driving and being a best friend and sketch and edit videos and do graphic design and make money and have a small house and ahhhhhhhh
« it’s slightly heartbreaking when the path you want to choose isn’t economically popular and financially viable to explore, which is why many people are hesitant when it’s brought up in conversation. » This over here is THE TRUTH🤯
Sad truth, but it’s important we talk about our desires even if they don’t bring financial ‘success’. Our happiness and others is the true success of our work! 💫

Lots of truth in here. Another thing I find frustrating is that you almost have to choose between making money and making a good impact with your career.
People get shamed for making a small bit of money in the nonprofit sector... Yet you have rich CEOs basically taking advantage of people's psychology to sell useless products for millions, and that's a-OK?
Not only do I want to not be confined to a niche, I don't want to be confined to a counterproductive capitalist system that heralds profit and not social good. Oh well, though.
