Welcome to The Garden Party
Come on in, grab a lawn chair, and let's discuss the day-to-day environmental challenges in a more holistic and sustainable approach.
Hello there!
Welcome to The Garden Party. I started this newsletter to create discourse and share my ideas for a more sustainable future. My approach to our current environmental issues will be less daunting compared to how the media portray them and will comprise ways we as individuals can deal with the environmental problems we face daily. My main focus is on forming connections to unite communities, society and the environment.
I should probably tell you a bit about myself:
I recently graduated Sixth Form from a school that does not recycle (you could imagine my horror finding that out). As well as being an environmental enthusiast, I am a passionate vegan that not only advocates for animal rights, but knows all the best vegan restaurants in London. (You can expect them to be revealed in future editions of The Garden Party).
I especially enjoy volunteering at my local food bank, The Leytonstone Community Fridge. Being in the presence of like-minded selfless volunteers never fails to inspire me to be a better person every time I volunteer (which I wish was more often). I cherish being part of such a welcoming and positive community that has a mission statement of reducing food waste and responsibly donating it to others, which aligns with my own beliefs.
My love for my cat, Lexi, and crocheting both spawned around the same time during the beginning of lockdown and have resulted in me having a small crochet business and a trained cat (she does tricks and everything!). However, my main passion is journalism, environmental journalism in particular. I enjoy encouraging eco-conscious living and making an impact on the world. My idealistic aim is to be a local journalist for an eco-village somewhere, where people and animals live alongside each other and farm oats. But for now, continue to expect weekly newsletters from me, here, at The Garden Party.
